employer-of-record.io helps companies decide how to hire people in another country and which provider to use. We compare Employer of Record, Contractor of Record, contractor payout and payroll providers, and publish country hiring guides with the costs and rules behind each decision.

What we do
We cover two questions buyers ask, often in the same week:
- Which provider? Provider pages, reviews pages, side-by-side comparisons, best-of lists and alternatives for Employer of Record, Contractor of Record, contractor payouts, payroll and related services. Each service a provider offers gets our score, with the method shown.
- How to hire in a country? Country guides that set out what an employer pays, the leave, notice and termination rules, and the ways to hire there: your own entity, an Employer of Record or contractors.
We write for the people who make the decision together: founders, HR and People teams, finance and legal. Each page opens with the answer and puts the evidence directly under it.
Three kinds of evidence
Every page brings together three kinds of evidence:
- What the country requires. Employer contributions, minimum wage, leave and notice rules, each with a source and the date we checked it, and worked examples of the all-in cost of one hire.
- What the market says. Ratings from G2, Capterra, Trustpilot and other platforms and what people say on Reddit, quoted with dates and links. They sit next to our own score, which comes from five criteria and does not include them.
- What it costs. Provider prices as each provider publishes them, in their own currency and unit, compared only where they are comparable.
The methodology sets out how we score, how prices and coverage are shown and how every list is ordered.
Who writes it
Pages are written and kept up to date by our editorial team, shown on each page as “Editorial team”. Figures link to their sources, and the line under each title shows when the page was last updated.
