Stay with Rise if you are

Companies that want one platform to fund payroll in USD, USDC or USDT and pay out in fiat or crypto

Teams hiring employees in the US or the UK through an EOR program
Look at alternatives if you are
Companies that need an EOR in countries beyond the US and the UK today

What our data points to
Limits in our data on Rise, from its own pages and the facts we checked. This is a summary, not the reasons any one customer gave.
EOR is documented in 2 countries (US, UK) against a claim of 90+. The parent, Rise Works, Inc., is on the GLEIF register; no own entity is documented in either country
The service agreement is not public: only website terms are, and the Master Services Agreement is signed in the platform
SOC 2 is stated on the pricing page and in a help article, with no report type, period or auditor
No country list for contractor payouts or Agent of Record: the 190+ figure is a claim
Direct Payroll is US only and its price is shown as '$49 Starting At' with no unit, so we treat it as not published
Of the 16 other US-dollar per-contractor prices for contractor management on this site, 13 are below Rise's $49 and 3 match it
Support is in-app chat for most services, with no stated response target or onboarding time
FinCEN registration numbers in the website footer differ from those in the help centre, and one help article says 24 US licence jurisdictions where the licensing article lists 29

Each row is set against Rise. Prices are compared only where both publish a “from” price on the same terms, and countries only where both pages show a documented count.
Order: our EOR score, highest first; equal scores go by name. Review-platform ratings do not change it; a row notes where a provider is rated higher than Rise on a platform with at least 50 reviews for each. How we score

What to check with Rise and with the new provider. Your agreement with each one sets the details.
Notice period and contract term. Check how much notice your agreement asks for, whether a minimum term or a renewal date applies, and what leaving early costs.
Data export. Ask for an export of your records, documents, payslips and invoices before the account closes, and in which format it comes.
Moving employees. A new EOR employs your people under new employment contracts; check whether each employee’s agreement is needed, as rules vary by country. Agree start dates and how pay, benefits and leave carry over, so there is no gap.
Deposits. If you paid a deposit, check when and how it comes back, and what may be deducted from it first.
Questions people ask
What are the alternatives to Rise?
We list 24 other EOR providers. In our order the first three are Pebl, Remote and Deel. The table on this page sets the first 10 against Rise on list price, documented countries and our EOR score.
How is the order worked out?
By our EOR score, highest first; equal scores go by name. Review-platform ratings are not part of our score and do not change the order. Where a provider is rated higher than Rise on a platform with at least 50 reviews for each, its row and card say so.
Which alternatives list a lower EOR price than Rise?
8 of them list a lower “from” price than Rise’s US$399 per employee a month, among providers that publish one on the same terms. The lowest is Native Teams at US$99. These are list prices: setup fees, deposits and volume discounts are not included.
What should I check before switching from Rise?
The notice period and contract term, a full data export, new employment contracts and whether each employee’s agreement is needed (rules vary by country), and how any deposit comes back. The checklist on this page goes through each one.
